Q. I’m new to surfing. Is this course too advanced for me?
No, the course is relevant for anyone, at any stage in surfing. If you’re interested in building your confidence in the ocean and improving your surfing the course is for you.
Q. Is this course for big wave surfers?
While big wave surfers will gain a lot from the course, the course is for anyone who has the desire to push their personal limits safely and have more fun when the surf is pumping.
Q. Do I need to have previous breathwork experience?
No, not at all. We begin with the foundations and build from there.
Q. Do I need to have access to a pool or ocean to train?
No, all of the training is land based. All you need is around 25m of space at a beach or park.
Q. How long does it take to benefit from the training?
Your breathing will improve almost immediately with the foundational practices. We recommend you do 2 sessions per week of the high intensity training for around 6 weeks leading into swell season or a surf trip for the full benefits.
Q. How long do i have access to the course?
You have access for life.
What age do I have to be to start this training?
Generally speaking, for the advanced breath practices and high intensity we’d recommend 12+. Even younger kids will benefit from the foundational breath practices.
Q. Are there any fitness requirements to start this course?
The breathwork is accessible to any level of fitness. The high intensity breath hold training has a beginners level as well as an advanced, so you can slowly build your fitness as you go.
Q. How long is the course, and what is the structure of the sessions?
The course runs over 5 modules and 18 videos. It unfolds sequentially and includes discussions, seated breathwork practices, along with beginners and advanced high intensity breath hold training. You'll continue practicing and integrating the techniques and the benefits will increase over time.
Q. What equipment or materials will I need to participate in the course?
For the breathwork sessions a yoga mat and cushions could be useful, however the breathwork can also be done sitting on a chair. There’s no specific equipment essential for the high intensity training, although a set of wireless headphones or a portable speaker could be used, along with your phone or iPad.
Q.Are there any safety concerns or precautions I should be aware of?
We recommend you consult your doctor if you have high blood pressure, heart issues, experience vertigo or seizures.
